A bar or bat mitzvah is the first party that is truly theirs. Bita designs to the theme, the colors and the personality of the guest of honor, from a princess-pink evening to a sleek black-and-gold lounge, and keeps the parents’ tables elegant while the kids’ side has fun.

The moment on camera
The candle-lighting display and the ring overhead
Two pieces carry a mitzvah party. The first is the candle-lighting display: a table of florals and candlelight, each candle placed so the family and friends called up have room to stand, and the whole scene glowing in every photo. Bita stages it from her own collection of candelabras, tapers and vases, and checks the venue’s candle policy before she designs it.
The second is the installation overhead. A ring of greenery, roses and warm bulbs suspended above the dance floor turns the room into the party the moment guests walk in, and is still there in the last photo of the night. Bita confirms rigging with the venue before she promises it, and designs a floor-standing alternative when hanging is not allowed.
